Fed up and bitter about being single?

There comes a time where you stop feeling so hopeful and just want to throw up your hands and say, “I’ll just spend the rest of my life being alone.” You take your aggression out on your family, friends, blogs and other people who try to help you because the pain of keeping your bitterness inside is unbearable. This unhealthy projection only perpetuates your situation and repels any potential partner who may come your way.

You do have a choice when you reach the bitterness point to stay stuck or be present to an opening available to you where everything just shifts.

You may have heard advice from married friends, “When you stop looking, your partner will appear.” I used to think, that is easy for you to say! When you are hungry, how can you ignore your growling stomach? Being lonely, it is hard to ignore that this is the third Saturday night that you have spent with you two buddies, Ben and Jerry, and a chick flick on the coach. How can you turn your back and pretend you are not looking?

Everyone talks about the law of attraction, but there is another law that is just as powerful. The Law of Reverse Effect. The harder you try to change something, the more it persists. Many singles just put too much emphasis on hating their single status that they often keep themselves stuck in it like quicksand. Almost like going up a down escalator and never getting where you want to be – in love.

The best way to attract what you want is to stop needing a man or woman to make you happy. This doesn’t mean that you have to give up on the search or stop taking action, but simply allowing your ideal mate to flow to you instead grasping at every chance that comes your way. Finding other things to fill your life instead of the dreaded “search” can be very liberating to your soul. You learn to nourish yourself and then your partner becomes icing on the cake instead of the flour that holds your whole life together.

By relaxing and allowing, you become more powerful and attractive. The bitterness subsides and a softer, gentler you starts to emerge. For many people it is the time when they give up trying…love shows up for them.
